Next Sunday, April 16, is our annual Missions Emphasis Sunday. The theme is Missions in a Fractured World. Each one of us is called to be Christ’s ambassador right where we are. How can we effectively bear witness to the redemptive power of Jesus Christ to people who think and behave and live and vote and believe differently from us? What should our attitude be as Christ’s ambassadors in broken relationships fraught with conflict? This Missions Emphasis Sunday we will be guided and instructed from the Word in addressing these questions.

9:00 Churchwide Adult Sunday School Class: All our regular adult classes (except for the New Members Class) will be combined in the sanctuary for teaching and discussion on The Gospel as Culture. We will also hear a brief overview of the missions program at SLPC.

10:15 Worship Service: Our guest preacher will be one of our local missionaries, Shelby Abbott. Shelby Abbott is an author, radio/podcast host (Real Life Loading…), campus minister, and conference speaker on staff with FamilyLife, a ministry of Cru. His passion for university students has led him to speak at college campuses all over the United States and author numerous books for college students and young adults. Shelby will be preaching from Jeremiah 29:4-7 on Missions as Exiles In a Fractured World.

11:30 International Coffee Cafe: Everyone is invited to bring an international dish to share at Coffee Cafe. Just bring your item to the coffee cafe team in the morning and they will put it out.
