The Children’s and Family Ministry exists to equip the children to know, show and grow in Christ’s LOVE! Children do this through Learning, Owning their faith, being Vessels for Christ and Exploring the Bible. We minister to children and families by engaging them in different activities and programs with a desire for heart change and an orientation towards Jesus Christ.

Our ministry strives to provide something for each and every child of God, from infants all the way to 5th graders and their families. We seek to make knowing God both fun and real and do this through Bible lessons, stories, games, activities, singing, acting, dancing, playing, etc. all while keeping Christ the center and focus of all that we do.

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed,

knowing from whom you learned it

and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings,

which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3: 14-15

Infant and Toddler Nursery is open downstairs on Sundays 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. for children age 3 and younger during adult discipleship classes and worship services.  Pre-screened and approved members of SLPC provide the care for our children.

Sunday Explorers are classes designed to teach children ages 4 through grade 5 the building blocks of Scripture. The classes are organized into three groups: Preschool, K-1st grade and grades 2-5. As students learn to "feed" on God's Word, they will discover a deepening treasure that will last a lifetime. These classes will be led on a rotation basis by  pre-screened volunteers using a curriculum from Great Commissions Publications and Bible in Life by David C. Cook

Sunrise Explorers is a Sunday morning program for children age 4 to 5th grade. This interactive class for our elementary learners engages the children in scripture memory, lesson review, and preparations for Christ-cetnered activities and presentations.

Family Fun Nights is time for children in grades K-5 and our friends from CTI to get together for special weekend afternoons of family fun and the joy of singing, games, and crafts on special nights during the school year.  Check out the calendar for upcoming dates and events.

Walking With Jesus is a special class for children in grades 3-5 held at SLPC on four Wednesdays in October from 4:30-6:00 p.m.  Each meeting led by Rick and Becki Marshall includes a lesson with discussion on the basics of the Christian life, followed by a pizza dinner.  The goal is to work with our parents to help our children better understand: The Bible; Human nature; Jesus Christ our Savior; the Church and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

Wednesday Explorers is for all children whose moms are attending the Women’s Wednesday Morning Bible Study.  This special hour offers Bible stories, song, prayer, and crafts where babies and toddlers join pre-school and grade-school children in learning of the joy in Jesus and praising the goodness of God!

Christmas Play gives our children and teens a creative way to bring the message of the birth of Jesus Christ to the entire church family and their friends.

Easter Egg Hunt is held at 10:00 a.m. on the Saturday before Easter each spring.  Bring a friend and meet some new ones as we enjoy songs and a Bible story before we hunt for Easter eggs on the lawn.

Camp Treasure Island (CTI) is held during the first full week of August every summer, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.  If you want to get wet, wild and learn about Jesus, this is the Camp for you!

SUNDAY MORNING CHECK IN All children in Sunday School classes and Infant and Toddler Nurseries are registered by their parent or caregiver into our check-in system at our Welcome Station (outside the Infant Nursery).  Each parent receives a card with i.d. number that matches their child's adhesive nametag worn while under our care.

CHILD SAFETY POLICY Springton Lake Presbyterian Church is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all children entrusted to our care. Our church leaders recognize that child abuse is at epidemic levels and that our entire society is vulnerable to this terrible crime.  Our Child Safety Policy provides formal screening and training of all adult child care volunteers to reduce the risk of any harm befalling our children. SLPC's Child Safety Policy provides for specific procedures to ensure our compliance with PA law that establish protocols for notification and direct reporting of inappropriate behavior. There is nothing more important than providing a safe place for our children to learn the Story of God’s love and grace made possible through our Lord Jesus Christ.

You can request a copy of our Child Safety Policy by contacting the Director of Children's and Family Ministries, Shellina Marshall at
