OUR YOUTH and ALL-NIGHTER FUN
Jake Bier

On March 8th, the Youth Group had an action-packed “All-Nighter,” filled with games, food, and great fun. From 7pm Friday night to 8am Saturday morning, we hung out and played some of our favorite games. As one of the students put it -- it was as if -- “We did everything fun that we normally do at Youth Group, but all in one night!” You can call us crazy for staying up that long, but it was an awesome time!

The night began with bowling at Sproul Lanes where the kids showed off their skills and enjoyed some friendly competition. After bowling, we went to CHVRCH in Newtown Square to use their gymnasium. We played basketball, volleyball, and soccer.

Back at our church, we ate pizza and played games like ping pong, gaga ball, foosball, and Uno. Then, we had a Nerf battle through the whole building. The kids had fun chasing each other in the dark, and discovering new hiding spots. Throughout the night, energy levels remained high thanks to a steady supply of pizza, ice cream sundaes, candy, and soft pretzels.

After all that running around, we all collapsed into bean bag chairs and watched the Pixar movie Cars. It was only a short break, though, before we were back up and running with a game of Ultimate Spoons. At last, as the sun came up, and the kids chowed down their breakfast, our time together came to an end. It was a great event, and we made a lot of special fun memories. But I think everyone was glad to go home and get some sleep!

The King’s Crown
Jacob Bier

A crown of thorns is forced upon his brow,

His scalp is sliced and both his temples torn;

The skin gives way like dirt beneath a plow,

A crown of thorns.

The soldiers laugh. In derision they adorn

His shoulders with a scarlet robe and bow

Before His feet. They hit him, taking turns

With clubs and whips, but little do they know

This is the King of kings they treat with scorn.

One day he will be wreathed with gold but now,

A crown of thorns.
