Could It Really Be That Simple?

(Psalm 8:2)
“God is love. Whoever lives in love – lives in God, and God in him."
(1 John 4:16)

Not long ago I was driving in my car with my four-year-old son in the backseat and K-LOVE on the radio. I typically have Christian music on the radio so that I never have to worry about what little ears might hear, and it is a joy for me to hear him sing along to the words of a song taken from scripture.

On this particular day, we listened to a song where the words of the song expressed “God is love.”

And from the back seat came a question for me – “Hey Mommy – is that true?  Is God really love?”

Encouraged that he was actually listening and hearing the words, I smiled and said –

“Yes – of course it’s true!”

“WOW!” he paused and thoughtfully replied.  “Now I understand why we can’t see God.  I’ve been wondering about that.  You can’t see love, but you can feel it!”

“And do you feel God’s love?” I asked him.

“Yes, Mommy – everyday!  Isn’t it amazing?

So, can it be that simple?  Jesus tells us to have faith like that of a little child for such belongs the kingdom of heaven. If a little child can feel and know God’s love in his heart every day -- than we all can.  Let the words “out of the mouth of babes” be an encouragement to us that His Word is true. God is love!  You can’t see Him, but you can feel His love.  As you live in His love, He will live in you every day forever. It is that simple!
