60 Seconds With Tom and Debbie Pasciolla

How did you come to faith in Jesus Christ?

Our son Nicholas brought us back to the Lord when he was attending the youth group at Holmes Presbyterian Church.

Is there a particular person or event in your life that had a big impact on your faith?

God used the deaths of my grandmother and Tom's parents to reach into our hearts. Annie DiMemmo has had a great impact in our lives and on her faith.

How did you find Springton Lake Presbyterian Church?

We were looking for a new church home and our very good friends Frank and Annie DiMemmo invited us to a service.

Tell us about your family. Where did you grow up and have you lived in other places besides Pennsylvania?

Tom and I both were born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. We met at a CYO dance when Tom was 18 years old and I was 15. We dated for three years and were married on February 17, 1979. We moved out of the city and bought our current home in Holmes, PA in November 1979. We are blessed with three children: Michael 35,  Jennifer 31 and Nicholas 26. All of them are married and doing very well. We just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary.    

What do you do for a living?

Tom is presently unemployed, due to a layoff in October 2014. His background is in retail. I am a registered nurse.

What do you do for fun?

We love spending time with family and close friends. We also enjoy getting away with our trailer and going camping.

How do you see the gifts God gave you at work in your vocation or ministry?

I enjoy crocheting,  I use that talent to crochet baby hats and blankets for Crozer Chester Hospital. I also enjoy cooking and baking for anyone who is sick or who is in need.  I enjoy being a nurse because I love working with people and hopefully put a bright spot in their day. Tom enjoys working with people and problem solving. He was also a scout leader for 20 years. 

What aspiration do you have for Springton Lake 10 years from now?

We would love to see the church experience continuous growth.

What book have you read that you think would be helpful to others?

Since coming to Springton Lake, Tom and I have started reading the Bible. We feel this has been a great influence in our lives and has given us new hope for the present and the future.
