How did you come to faith in Jesus Christ?

In our early 30s, between 1950 and 1960, two delightful Christian couples were very attentive to our spiritual needs. They eventually got us to attend a Philadelphia Billy Graham crusade. That is when the light of Christ began to shine brightly.

Is there a particular person or event in your life that had a big impact on your faith?

Our pastor Ralph Osborne was very influential. Singing in the choir for 40 years also had a cohesive experience.

How did you find Springton Lake Presbyterian Church?

We discovered Springton Lake by word of mouth friends and now its so close to my home.

Tell us about your family. Where did you grow up and have you lived in other places besides Pennsylvania?

I am the youngest of 3 children of missionaries to China. I spent my first 7 years there (though I never returned to the country). Most of my schooling was in Lancaster PA except for 3 years in Upper Darby.

What do you do for a living?

I held secretarial positions. My husband had a variety of interests that I assisted him with. We enjoyed raising 2 boys.

What do you do for fun?

I used to play tennis. Now I read, walk, and knit (for Church World Service).

How do you see the gifts God gave you at work in your vocation or ministry?

I seem to be capable of doing acts of small kindness, a gift from God.

What is one thing about you that most people would be surprised to know?

We owned a swim and tennis club but I never learned to swim!

What aspiration do you have for Springton Lake 10 years from now?

I pray Springton Lake doubles in the size of the congregation and the spirit of joy prevails 10 years from. Whatever you are doing now certainly is working.

What book have you read that you think would be helpful to others?

I recommend John Stott's Basic Christianity, Soul Survivor by Philip Yancey, and Kitchen Table Wisdom by Rachel Naomi Remen.
