Neighbors InDeed
We are preparing desserts for the homeless in fellowship hall on Saturday, September 8. 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
A ministry by the children rather than for the children of SLPC, Neighbors InDeed provides manageable service project opportunities for our Kingdom Kids ages 4 and up. This ministry leans heavily on the very simple and clear call of Jesus in Mark 12:31: Love your neighbor as yourself. As a result, our church's smallest attendees will get a chance to deepen their understanding of two key principles, 'Who is my neighbor?' and 'How do I act towards my neighbor?' With plans to visit the residents of Dunwoody nursing home, prepare meals for the homeless, and assemble care packages for a number of recipients in need, our kids learn both to look outside themselves and become functional members of Christ's body in action.
