Winter Scene

Our mission is to encourage, to bring hope, to unite our church body by weaving a common thread through our faith community in Christ—with our stories, prayers, and praises

God's Kingdom Work

This New Year 2024 edition of Common Threads is taking the opportunity to examine what kingdom work is. We are disciples and ambassadors for Christ and we here at Springton Lake strive to live in community, to work with people as whole beings: mind, body and spirit. God’s Kingdom reign begins in our hearts and we are intended to spread the Gospel message to all that we meet. As you open the squares of Common Threads Winter 2024, rejoice in God's Kingdom Work occurring here at SLPC. Join those who have contributed, as they share hope, courage and passion while pursuing God.

A Word for the Year

This may be a common thought or resolution — beginning the new year with a word—just one word. The word would be meant to inspire, challenge, motivate—as the LORD leads. The word I chose for 2024 is joy. As I meditated on the word joy the other day, one thing I thought of was tears of joy: hhmmm, that may be a challenge, but I found it, even in scripture.  There are days and days, 365/6 to be exact to cogitate on your one word. Gather some friends, associates, family members, and then meet from time to time to encourage each other with the words each have chosen—be refreshed, delighted, and renewed, as well as inspired, challenged and motivated—it’s a bit of daily Kingdom living.

New Year Blessings to one and all!
