I “…remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 1:3)

Loving leaders. Willing workers. Examples of encouragement. Hopeful in Christ. These are the character qualities that describe the women who have faithfully partnered alongside me this past year to make our women’s ministry strong in the Word, fruitful and welcoming to many SLPC newcomers.

By utilizing all the technology and options available, our ministry continued to meet, despite the pandemic, for Bible Studies, W2W fellowship, the Fall Women’s Retreat, a Biblical Theology Saturday Workshop, and a spectacular end-of-season luncheon to honor and encourage our Senior Ladies.

Here are a few photos of our women’s leaders, study groups, and the June 1 Senior Ladies Luncheon: The Joy of ‘Him-dependent’ Living with Kathy Benjamin:

Senior Ladies Luncheon

The wonderful help for the Senior Ladies Luncheon

Now as we consider how to ‘unplug’ from usual routines and school year schedules, I urge you to soak up some ‘soul-i-tude’ and replenish your spiritual tank. Grab that Christian growth book on your night stand or start a new, fresh devotional. Journal some faith-building quotes, answers to prayer, or simply some God and nature sightings. Make use of these summer days to refresh your heart and rebuild your walk with the Lord.

If you need a recommendation for a biography of a great Christian woman, here are 3 of my all time favorites:

  • A Chance to Die (The Life of Amy Carmichael) by Elizabeth Elliot
  • The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom
  • Gladys Aylward: The Little Woman by Gladys Aylward
