The Apostle Peter wrote about the church that we are “...a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” in 1 Peter 2:9.
Peter’s words, in the early years of the 21st century, provoke this question: How do we best live out our faith during a time of confusion, emptiness and distraction? To help us contemplate a response, Os Guinness, author and social critic, has agreed to come to SLPC for a weekend of music, seminars, fellowship and preaching. Os has written or edited more than 30 books, including The Call, Time for Truth, Unspeakable, The American Hour, A Free People’s Suicide, and The Global Public Square. His most recent book, Last Call for Liberty, on the crisis of the United States today, will be available October 2nd. He lives with his wife Jenny in the Washington, D.C. area.
