SLPC's 40th!

Dr. Tim Witmer, formerly the Assistant Pastor of SLPC beginning in late 1979, will be our guest preacher.  Tim is currently the founding pastor of St. Stephen Reformed Church (a new PCA church) in New Holland, PA.  He is also Emeritus Professor of Practical Theology, Westminster Theological Seminary and Pastor Emeritus, Crossroads Community Church, Upper Darby, PA.

We reflect on our church history. The congregation now known as Springton Lake      Presbyterian Church was founded in October 1978.  The church was formally organized as a Pennsylvania Nonprofit Corporation on August 8, 1979. The initial name was Berith (“Covenant”) Presbyterian Church.  The name was changed to Springton Lake Presbyterian Church on October 3, 1997. The genesis of SLPC was a bible study, hosted by Dr. Stuart Sacks, then an assistant pastor at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. Stuart Sacks then became the founding pastor and, shortly thereafter, Tim Witmer was called as an assistant pastor. As a church, we met in two different locations before we purchased the current property. Our current location was purchased in 1989 and the first worship service was held here on Christmas Eve 1989.

After worship, join us in fellowship hall for a special Coffee Café.
