We are beginning a study of The Letter of Paul to Titus - one of his closest and most trusted friends. In this letter Paul provides us with a rich source of encouragement and direction about the importance of character and integrity in the life of those who lead and serve in the Church of Jesus Christ. It also provides timely counsel on the vital role of older men and women in serving the young, the importance of the family, the ministry of evangelism demonstrated by good works, and of the dangers of disunity.  And though the letter is directed to the a first century church planter Titus, it still speak to us at SLPC...
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
