How did you come to faith in Jesus Christ?

I heard Billy Graham preach from Isaiah 53 on the Savior who was crushed for our sins and by whose sacrifice we are healed .  I went forward to pray for forgiveness and to ask Christ into my life.

Is there a particular person or event in your life that had a big impact on your faith?

My husband, Bill, opened up a more in depth understanding of the Word of God.  He sparked in me a real love for theology.

How did you find Springton Lake Presbyterian Church?

I heard about Sorington Lake Church from Becki Marshall when I first went to an evening CBS class which was being held at the church.  I immediately came to appreciate the church as a place of grace and truth!  That was about 16 years ago!

Tell us about your family. Where did you grow up and have you lived in other places besides Pennsylvania?

I grew up in Springfield, Delaware County, PA. We live in Media now and in between, we spent 9years in Pittsburgh, PA I have never lived outside of Pennsylvania.

What do you do for a living?

I am a Christian counselor and have been for the past 23 years since earning an M.A. In Counseling.

What do you do for fun?

I love Bible study and serving in the church with other women.  I also enjoy spending time with my grandchildren!  I am an avid reader!

How do you see the gifts God gave you at work in your vocation or ministry?

I believe that God has given me the gifts of wisdom, mercy and teaching. These are essential to the work God has called me to do.  I could not be a counselor without the equipping of the Spirit of God.

What is one thing about you that most people would be surprised to know?

Am not sure!  I am pretty much an open book!

What aspiration do you have for Springton Lake 10 years from now?

I have a vision for the counseling ministry to include an active post abortion recovery program as well as some other support groups!  I anticipate our church to have a thriving ministry to the community
> college and maybe even have an area for students to come during the week for coffee, study etc.

What book have you read that you think would be helpful to others?

More than a Soup Kitchen, by David Apple.  This book has been read by the leadership of the church and provides a wonderful  example of what Mercy ministry should look like in the church!
