All of us, even our kids, need breaks from the high-intensity pace we run.  We become, if I can use T.S. Eliot’s phrase, distracted from distractions by distractions.  We need a break every once in a while.  Actually, taking breaks is one of the oldest commandments God asks of His people.  He himself takes one on the first page of the first book of the Bible. At Springton Lake we want to provide space for just this kind of rest and renewal.

Every year our youth program works with local churches to create opportunities for students to explore God and His creation.  Along with Christ the King Church, Crossroads Community church, and Proclamation, Meadowcroft, Olive Street we bring over 100 middle and high school students together for The Ultimate Retreat, from Friday April 20 to Sunday afternoon on April 22.

We’re going to have a zip line, kayaks, ropes courses, and plenty of opportunities to recalibrate our lives back toward the God who created us all.
