Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility, State Road, Philadelphia, PA Jesus Christ restores lives!  Though He allows seasons of adversity to draw us closer to Him, He will refresh us.  There is true freedom in the faith that we can trust God with whatever He is doing in our life.

Such was the message shared on April 28, 2015 with the prisoners at the Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility on State Road in Philadelphia, PA.  Bob DiGiorgio, an elder and the leader of the men's ministry at Springton Lake, joined Charles Wagner, one of the men of the congregation, as guests of the Christian Life Prison and Recovery Ministry (CLPRM) of Bensalem, PA.

The ministry was conducting their regular Tuesday evening worship service, attended by 50-100 incarcerated men who do not refrain in the least to shout their thankfulness for the love of Christ in their lives.  CLPRM leaders Bob Sofronski and Dave Geyer, faithful ministers of the love of Christ for years at the prison, led the men in joyful songs of praise.  Charles prayed for the men in the room prior to Bob Sofronski's powerful message from Job and Jeremiah.  After the sermon, Mr. Sofronski, a former inmate saved in the very same chapel in the late 90s, invited the men in the room to accept Jesus Christ as their savior.  With all eyes closed and prisoners encouraging each other to come to Christ, an inmate received Christ and came forward.  Bob DiGiorgio closed the worship service with prayer, thanking God for the young man who had just welcomed Christ into his heart.

The visit to the prison by Bob DiGiorgio and Charles Wagner reflects the direction Springton Lake Presbyterian Church desires for the men's ministry.  We want to encourage men to not only honor Jesus Christ in their daily walk but to also to minister to those who are dear to the heart of God - the poor, the sick, and the imprisoned (Matthew 25:36).  Join our men's ministry and help the men of Springton Lake express our thanksgiving for God's blessings in our lives by reaching out and touching the lives of people in crisis.
